Lifeline

In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean reside a small archipelago of Portuguese Islands. These islands are the remnants of ancient volcanos and are actually the tallest points of Portugal! While the islands are very small, you are instantly transported to a completely new world.

While hiking on the island of Terceira, we came across this tree that has endured many a harsh year. Its branches and roots are equally twisted and convoluted as the tree has struggled to live above ground and below. The exposed roots have had their bark stripped away as the tree has persisted to challenge time throughout its life.

Seeing this tree was an important reminder that time will not be easy on our bodies, but if we persist in life, we can endure through any hardship!
